Position Details Seize this opportunity to lead a dynamic sales team to execute successful sales strategies for the one of the largest accounts in the Communications Test Division of JDSU! As the AT&T Executive Sales Director, you will set the strategy which will enable you to meet or exceed the committed forecasts, bookings targets, while additionally gaining new product approvals for the account. Utilizing your experience in managing large accounts, you will lead a team of account/program managers to accomplish the goals for the account while fostering and building relationships at the highest levels both internally and in the account. The location of this position is negotiable.
The AT&T Executive Sales Director will have more than 15 years experience in technical sales, with an emphasis on Telecommunications. He/she will also have an advanced knowledge of Executive Alignment, Sales Team Leadership, Sales Skill Development, Conceptual & Strategic Selling and Large Account Management.
Qualifications should include an undergraduate degree in science or engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Achieve or exceed targeted bookings/quota objectives and new product approval targets while managing within the assigned expense budget constraints.
• Build, lead, develop and mentor the AT&T sales team and provide strong cross-functional leadership.
• Establish, maintain and expand senior level relationships with key customer decision makers and influencers within the AT&T Account base.
• Qualify and close new sales opportunities.
• Lead Account/Program Managers/Portable Sales Director in assessing potential application of JDSU CommTest products to meet customer needs.
• Function as a first line manager, a second line manager and as a Customer Executive Engagement Specialist.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships internally to enable cross-functional communication, opportunity development, new product development and joint problem solving.
• Network effectively with other internal sales executives, customer service personnel, and product organizations to provide responsive support to customers.
• Possess a solid understanding of the test and management industry with emphasis on competitive differentiators, OS experience, telecommunications application knowledge, network equipment, network topologies and industry trends.
• Demonstrate in-depth systems sales experience by being proficient in directing the sales process of selling big ticket systems.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of company products/services.
Required Qualifications • Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 10 years experience leading a technical sales team selling technical products and services to customers.
• Demonstrated experience managing and leading a sales team with over $100M in annual revenue.
• A record of driving solid business revenues in a competitive Telco or related IT environment.
• Must possess and ability to qualify opportunities at senior executive levels and manage the delivery of key value propositions and business benefits to customer executives.
• Must be well versed in formulation of effective sales strategies and be able to adapt strategies quickly with changing landscapes and customer position.
• Extensive experience in developing top level investment plans for complex solutions and presenting these effectively to customers.
