Our client currently has an opportunity for an intermediate to senior
level J2ME Software Developer with a minimum of 4 years experience.
This is a rewnewable contract position in Ottawa.
Working in R&D, the ideal candidate will be responsible for design and
development of leading edge software products for mobile hand-held
device platforms (Windows Mobile, RIM, Symbian) as well as Windows PC
and Tablet platforms.
The ideal candidate must have a well-rounded technical background,
experience in multi-tier application development, object oriented,
distributed and internet technologies.
Knowledge and Skills:
·BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field.
·Demonstrated, hands on experience with J2ME.
·C++(.NET compact framework) and C# are assets.
·Strong project management skills.
·The ability to work collaboratively with other team members and also
be self motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven and dynamic environment.
·Proven problem solving skills.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Other experience can include: J2EE, Directory Servers such as LDAP,
SunOne/Active Directory. Web and Application servers such as BEA
WebLogic, Apache.
·DBMS design using SQL products such as SQL Server.
·Web-centric services and protocols such as HTTPS, SOAP, .NET, JMS,
and RMI.
·Hands on experience with XML, XML schema, XPath, XSLT, XHTML and
JavaScript.
·Working knowledge of versioning repositories CVS, Microsoft Visual
SourceSafe
