Maplesoft Consulting has a local client that is currently seeking an
Engagement Manager for a full-time employee opportunity.
JOB DUTIES / QUALIFICATIONS:
The Engagement Manager brings experience working in a Professional
Services environment,
delivering complex enterprise software solutions for a variety of
industries with extensive
experience ideally with Financial Services clients.
The Engagement Manager has a proven ability to manage projects; has a
solid understanding of, and significant experience with, project
management methodology and practices; and is able to communicate at
both a business and a technical level with clients, project team
members, sales, and senior management.
The Engagement Manager will be responsible for preparing customer
proposals, Statements of
Work, project plans, and resource assignments, understanding Adobe's
Enterprise products and services and committing to a high degree of
service to our customers.
The Engagement Manager must be willing and able to travel
internationally to manage projects
on-site, from 0% to 50% of the time, depending on the project.
Key Activities:
· Foster relationships with partners and clients
· Use market and product knowledge and analytical skills to qualify
prospects, source new leads and qualify opportunities within named
accounts
· Develop and finalize Statements of Work (SOWs) for projects, ensure
all contractual
paperwork is signed/countersigned with a reasonable turnaround time
· Participate in client meetings and high-level requirements gathering
during the Inception phase of a project
· Communicate with Business Analysts to ensure completeness and
accuracy of detailed business requirements
· Forecast, budget, and manage actuals vs. planned
· Provide guidance, direction and mentorship to 4Point project team
members
· Participate in planning resource skill development for Professional
Services team members.
· Facilitate the creation of shared information and knowledge
resources.
· Resource Management: Ensure that Professional Services resources are
properly
utilized, mentored, and assigned, to successfully complete project
tasks and promote
continuous learning and career growth.
· Work with Director, Services, to provide learning path for each
resource Prepare and
deliver performance reviews
· Work with other Engagement Managers and Director, Services, to
forecast resourcing needs and make hiring recommendations to
management
· Pre-Sales: Provide assistance to the Sales organization in a pre-
sales capacity as
required.
· Prepare preliminary estimates and assess project scope to support
sales effort.
Knowledge and Skills
· Background as a solution consultant/developer/analyst
· Knowledge of project planning and scheduling methods and tools
· Building relationships with partner teams
· Experience in managing accounts and client relationships, including
identification of
new services and training opportunities
· Knowledge of project management methodologies, Rational Unified
Process (RUP)
and other standard software project management techniques
· Proven ability to communicate equally effectively on a business and
technical level
with clients, management, project team members and other departments
· Ability and willingness to travel
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· University degree and/or equivalent work experience
Additional Assets
· Accreditation under the Project Management Institute (PMI)
· Experience setting up a project management office
· Experience in other Financial Services vertical(s)
· Knowledge of Adobe Enterprise Products, SDLC, Java, JavaScript,
J2EE, XML, and
Rich Internet Applications
