We design products and services that are at the forefront of communications technology, and conduct fundamental research in fields important to communications.  Currently, the CTO team has a opportunity for a Software Researcher at the Senior level.   JOB DUTIES: The Network Based Services team is part of Alcatel-Lucent’s Research and Innovation (R&I) department and is looking for early technology adopters with strong software skills to participate in the development of new networking products and services based on emerging technologies.  What we want: self starters who are energetic and results oriented, work well with minimal process overhead, adapt to new technologies quickly and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. EDUCATION:
BSEE, BSc, desired - MSEE, PhD
EXPERIENCE:
o           Strong C/ C++ skills
o           Knowledgeable about current technologies including Web Services, XML, SOAP, SIP and peer-to-peer
o           Understanding of system and datapath architecture
o           Energetic and enthusiastic team player
o           Confident, a creative self-starter, effective and results oriented
DESIRED:
o           Algorithm design, research and optimization
o           XML Routing, Publish/Subscribe
o           Adhoc networks, mesh networks or distributed network architectures
o           Strong statistics, probability and data mining knowledge
o           Analytical and simulation modeling
o           Algorithm design, research and optimization
o           Familiarity with R, Python, etc. a plus
o           Early adopter of new technologies, gadgets and gizmos
o           Ability to separate hype from real business opportunities
o           Strong interpersonal and communication skills
