Rational Cloud Computing – Intern Software Developer (Ottawa)
WORK LOCATION: IBM Ottawa Lab, 1 Hines Road, Kanata, Ontario, Canada, K2K 3C7
LENGTH OF TERM: 4 MONTHS CONSECUTIVE
PREFERRED DISCIPLINES: Computer Science/Engineering/Math NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

Over 300 world-class Developers and support staff provide vital technologies and components used by hundreds of teams across IBM and around the world.
THE TEAM
The Rational team is looking for Developers who are self-starters, work well in small team environments, are able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions, and are ready to have fun! You will contribute to enhancing the cloud computing capability for the Rational suite of products. Working in a small team environment, you will write and maintain production code, participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test creation. You will provide services
REQUIRED SKILLS
· In-depth knowledge of Linux
· In-depth knowledge of SSH, shell scripting, regular expressions
· In-depth knowledge of Software development best practices
DESIRABLE SKILLS
· Unit testing
· Experienced Java/C#/C++ Developer
· Strong object-oriented design skills
· Experience with Eclipse
· Web services development
· XML and related technologies (XSLT, XPath)
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate their passion for Software development through experience and/or academic achievement. Please feel free to dress comfortably and casually for interviews.
