RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Architect platforms targeting challenging goals in high performance and low cost systems.
· Develop embedded Software and design digital circuitry in a cross-platform development environment for controlling physical parameters at a rate of milliseconds and microseconds.
· Participate in Software specification and design activities, including the writing of requirements, specifications, and design documents.
· Participate in code reviews, establish and execute test plans and test procedures.
· Create and maintain proper documentation according to the quality procedures.
· Participate in planning process providing input into estimates and scheduling.
· Collaborate in a cross-functional development team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Science or with 5+ years design and programming experience,
Solid background in C/C++/Assembly programming for multithreaded embedded systems (RTOS) in a cross-platform development environment.
Experience in FPGA / VHDL programming using industry established tools (e.g. Xilinx's ISE, Synplicity and ModelSim).
Hardware design experience with focus on digital design implementation at the printed circuit board (PCB) level (microprocessor/microcontroller architecture & implementation, data acquisition interface development, bus communication implementation), FPGA/CPLD design experience
Familiar with control system concepts like PID control in both the analog and digital domain.
Experience with Motorola and Intel architectures as well as Microchip dsPIC (MPLAB) is an asset.
Experience with tools such as logic analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, debuggers, emulators, simulators.
Design and development of low-latency high-throughput products is an asset
NI LabView knowledge/experience is an asset.
Windows (XP, CE) development experience using object oriented design and analysis with Visual Studio, C++, C#, .NET is an asset.
Proactive, results-oriented, self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
