Ottawa Community Housing Corporation (OCH) is the second largest social housing provider in Ontario. OCH manages some 15,000 units among 162 communities representing approximately 2/3 of all social housing in Ottawa. The City of Ottawa is the sole Shareholder of OCH.
As Chief Executive Officer you will report to a Board of Directors comprised of elected officials and community representatives. You will drive OCH’s strategic plan, steward its diverse resources and asset pool, and develop and further strengthen its financial base. As an organizational champion and community partner, you will promote the interests and good work of OCH with a variety of audiences, including tenants, staff, stakeholders, local and provincial governments, the media and the general public.
You are considered a consummate leader with a strong vision for housing Ottawa’s vulnerable and poor, and an ability to inspire and motivate people and influence change with energy, enthusiasm and hard work. You have highly developed political, diplomatic and interpersonal skills having worked in complex, multi-level, multi-interest environments. You are comfortable and confident in executive roles that call upon your knowledge of good governance, operational management, consensus-building, client-service and community engagement. A respected corporate administrator, you drive excellence across an organization through proper planning, solid analysis, staff mentorship and a roll-up-your-sleeves style that keeps you connected to the issues and needs of the people and communities you serve. Most importantly, you embody OCH’s values of accountability, excellence, partnership, respect, safe communities, service and tenant empowerment. You are bilingual or are committed to becoming proficient in English and French, in a manner acceptable to the Board of Directors.
